2 Toddler Drowning Incidents Occur in Coachella Valley

Two toddler drowning incidents occurred in Coachella Valley over the weekend, one of which resulted in a fatality. The first drowning happened Friday evening an an Indio residence in the 81-400 block of Avenida Gaviota.

Police responded to the scene at 5:50 p.m. and found the 2-year-old boy had fallen into a pool. Authorities rushed the child to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. Police are still investigating the incident. 

The second toddler drowning incident occurred at a home in the 72-600 block of Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert. Authorities responded to the scene and found a child around 2-3 years old who had fallen into a pool. They revived the child and rushed him to the hospital as a precaution.
