Firefighters rescued the trapped occupant. However, that person suffered critical injuries. Mercy Air flew the victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. It is unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the head-on highway collision.

Sheriff’s deputies then shut down a portion of Highway 395 for several hours to investigate the crash. Further details about the incident were not available.
