One person was injured in a school bus crash in Victorville Monday morning. The crash happened on Amargosa Road south of Maricopa Road at 9:17 a.m. According to the Victorville Sheriff’s Station, the driver of a Honda Civic was heading south on Amargosa when he apparently lost control and crashed into the northbound school bus.
The 22-year-old Honda driver was injured in the collision. He was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The school bus belonged to the Victor Elementary School District. The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the crash.
Amargosa was blocked in both directions for a few hours due to the crash debris. Vehicles were redirected to Maricopa during the cleanup. The school bus crash remains under investigation.
“Fortunately this school bus was not transporting children when the crash occurred. Please be aware of schools buses and students, especially during school hours,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
