2 Injured in Indio Single-Vehicle Crash

Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Indio Friday morning. The accident occurred just after 2 a.m. on Hoover Street across from Monroe Street.

One occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A second occupant had to be cut from the vehicle. That victim was then airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

Additionally, the accident damaged a power line at the intersection, which had to be repaired by the Imperial Irrigation District. However, the IID said that the damage did not cause any customers to lose power.

The intersection was closed until just after 5 a.m. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the single-vehicle crash.
