Two people were injured in Apple Valley Wednesday in a pickup truck rollover crash on Outer Highway 18. The crash occurred around 1:43 p.m. According to a witness, a Chevrolet S10 was traveling west on Outer Highway 18 when it was hit by a Chevrolet Colorado traveling south on Kasota Road.
The witness says the driver of the S10 stopped at the stop sign. The vehicle was entering the intersection when the southbound Colorado struck the pickup truck. The S10 rolled over twice, taking out a street sign and stop sign.
Bystanders helped a woman crawl out of the vehicle. First responders arrived a few minutes later and helped a man out of the flipped vehicle. Both occupants of the S10 were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
The driver of the Colorado remained on the scene and was not injured. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol contributed to the pickup truck rollover crash.
“Accidents like these can usually be avoided if drivers remain focused behind the wheel and eliminate distractions. However, if you are unsure who has the right of way, the safest thing to do is defer to the other driver. Then enter the intersection when you are certain it is safe to do so,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
