2 Killed in Winter Storm Accidents

Two people were killed during the winter storm that swept across southern California Friday. Around 6 p.m., a Sheriff’s helicopter responded to two submerged vehicles in Victorville. The vehicles were underwater near Pebble Beach Drive and La Paz Drive. The deputies successfully rescued one of the victims, who escaped and was standing on top of the vehicle. The other vehicle was fully submerged, and the victim did not survive. Officials identified the victim as 41-year-old Michael Douglas Williams of Victorville.

Shortly after that incident, officers responded to another flood emergency on Rodeo Drive and Hughes Road. Sheriff’s officials rescued multiple occupants from a vehicle stuck in the flooded roadway.

Man Electrocuted During Winter Storm

The second fatality also occurred on Friday during the storm. . A tree fell in Sherman Oaks, downing power lines and electrocuting a 55-year-old man in his vehicle. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
