Man Driving Under the Influence Injures Children
An Indio man was jailed for injuring three people while driving under the influence, including his children, in November 2015.
Manuel Moreno Martinez, 33, crashed his SUV into a Jeep on Dune Palms Road in La Quinta around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 8. 2015. Martinez fled the scene, but authorities tracked him to his home. They arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Jeep driver and Martinez’s two children were injured in the crash. Fortunately none of the injuries were life threatening. In addition to driving under the influence, Martinez was driving on a suspended license for a previous DUI charge.
“This is yet another instance of an all-too-familiar story of driving under the influence. This man now has to live with knowing he injured his own children because he decided to drive drunk,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
