3 Airlifted Following I-15 Tractor-Trailer Crash
Three people were airlifted to the hospital after they were hurt in an I-15 tractor-trailer crash in Barstow Tuesday. The crash occurred around 11:24 p.m. on northbound I-15 near the Lenwood Road onramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2016 Toyota Camry was traveling east on Lenwood Road and attempting to merge onto northbound I-15. The driver lost control and entered I-15 perpendicular to traffic. The Camry traveled into the path of a Freightliner tractor-trailer, which collided into the right side of the sedan.
Three people inside the Camry had to be extricated from the vehicle. All three were then airlifted to trauma centers for their injuries. The Barstow Area CHP is investigating the cause fo the crash. Anyone with information can contact authorities at (760) 255-5900.
