75 Sanitizer Products Now Being Recalled

In an effort to ensure that individuals across the country are being as safe as possible, the Food and Drug Administration is aggressively updating their list of recalls relating to hand sanitizer products. Unfortunately, the sudden onset of coronavirus has led to an unprecedented demand for sanitizer products, causing an equally historic growth in the number of providers offering them. As we can seen from the continuously expanding FDA list, however, it is ESSENTIAL that individuals review the ingredients of these sanitizer products in-depth before using them.

Identifying the Problem

According to FDA experts, hand sanitizers which incorporate excessive levels of wood alcohol, also known as methanol, can result in harm or even death to users. Under no circumstances is this excessive use of methanol acceptable. In fact, absorbing methanol through the skin can result in blindness or hospitalization. In a situation where this product was ingested, it could lead to death.

With that in mind, the FDA urges all Americans to review their recent updates in order to ensure that they don’t accidentally purchase one of these harmful products. Taking the time to educate and inform yourself could, quite literally, save your life.
