Arrests Made Following Pursuit and Auto Crash in Palm Springs

On Wednesday afternoon, three individuals were arrested by the Cathedral City Police following a pursuit and eventual collision. According to reports filed by police, the series of events began at approximately 3 PM when police identified a male individual driving a vehicle who was wanted based on a suspicion that he had been involved in an earlier assault. When officers tried to confront the male driver, he fled in his vehicle, initiating a car chase with police.

The chase took place on Gene Autry Trail, with officers pursuing the suspect until he drove through a red light at a traffic stop and collided with two other vehicles. As part of his continued efforts to resist arrest, the suspect exited the vehicle and continued on foot. Ultimately, however, the suspect was apprehended alongside another male individual who was also in the car. The police have named the two suspects as Luis Ortiz and Juan Antonio Reyes, Jr. A third individual was also arrested, although there status as a juvenile has resulted in very little information being provided about them.

More information about this story will likely become available over the next several weeks.
