A bicyclist was airlifted to the hospital in Oro Grande Thursday after he was struck by a FedEx van Thursday afternoon. The bicycle accident happened on National Trails Highway just after 12:30 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a bicyclist traveling south on the shoulder apparently swerved into traffic. The bicyclist was then struck by a FedEx van. The FedEx driver did not suffer any injuries. He also remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The CHP continues to investigate the bicycle crash.
