Biker Killed in Phelan Motorcycle Crash
A Palmdale man was killed in a Phelan motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon. The motorcycle accident occurred around 2 p.m. on Highway 138 and Ponderosa Road. Officials have identified the motorcyclist as 26-year-old Evan Guest.
Police say Guest was heading west on Highway 138 and was approaching a 2005 Chevrolet Express van at the intersection of Ponderosa Road. The van was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn left onto Ponderosa. For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist failed to notice the stopped vehicle. He hit the brakes too late, crashing into the back of the van.
Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene at 2:31 p.m. Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal Phelan motorcycle crash.
“Our thoughts are with the motorcyclist’s loved ones. As important as it is for drivers to look out for motorcyclists, it is equally important for bikers to stay alert at all times,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
