Who is to Blame for Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Victorville?

One person was killed in a pedestrian accident in Victorville on Friday night. Police say a man in his 50s or 60s attempted to run across Hook Boulevard when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling east in the No. 2 lane. The crash occurred just west of Roy Rogers Driver around 7:30 p.m.

When authorities arrived, the pedestrian was lying unconscious in the road. Responders performed CPR on the victim before he was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center. He passed away from his injuries later that day.

Hook Boulevard was closed from Roy Rogers to Arlene Drive for several hours during the investigation of the pedestrian accident. According to police, the pedestrian was trying to beat traffic when he ran across the road and was struck.

“Drivers absolutely need to take pedestrian safety seriously, but pedestrians also need to be responsible for their own safety. Trying to ‘beat traffic’ as a pedestrian is gambling with your life,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
