A 4-year-old boy was saved from drowning by his mother, who performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived. Mysael Escobar was in the backyard of his Cathedral City home looking for his skateboard when his mother went out to check on him. She found him at the bottom of their backyard pool, just before 6 p.m.
Escobar’s mother pulled him from the pool and began administering CPR. Emergency crews arrived and transported the boy to the hospital. The 4-year-old is currently recovering at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities say Escobar’s mother’s quick action saved her son’s life.
Pool Owners Should Learn CPR
This incident is an important reminder for adults to learn CPR, especially if they have a pool. Pool owners should also take other safety precautions, including having a pool fence, alarms on the doors, and always ensuring young children are supervised.
“Thankfully, this mother had the training and quick response to rescue her son. We are praying for a speedy recovery,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
