What Caused Deadly Desert Hot Springs Crash?

A deadly Desert Hot Springs crash Friday morning shut down Palm Drive for six hours. The two-car collision occurred at the intersection of Palm Drive and Camino Campanero at 5:16 a.m. Firefighters found two people trapped in one of the vehicles and extricated them. Both were then taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for their injuries. Authorities say both victims should recover.

The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Taryn Rogers, died at the scene. She was the sole occupant of that vehicle. Police shut down Palm Drive from Camino Campanero to Dillon Road until about 2 p.m. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the deadly collision.

Deadly Desert Hot Springs Crash Followed by 4-Car Pileup

Just 10 minutes after officials cleared the scene, four vehicles crashed on Camino Aventura. As a result, police closed northbound Palm Drive for the rest of the afternoon. It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the second crash.

“Our thoughts are with Ms. Rogers’ family as they grieve the loss of this young life,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
