A Coachella man was arrested this month after he committed a hit-and-run and fled the scene on foot. Police noticed the man driving recklessly near Tripoli Avenue and Date Avenue in Coachella. He then crashed into a parked car, got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee. The officers chased him and apprehended him near Harrison Street and Avenue 52.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Roman Gamboa, was in possession of methamphetamine. The vehicle he was driving had also been reported stolen. Gamboa was arrested for hit-and-run, possession of methamphetamine and vehicle theft.
The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Coachella Police Department at (760) 863-8990.
“Thankfully no one was injured in this hit-and-run. We’re glad authorities were able to arrest the suspect and hope to see justice served,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
