Collision in Palm Springs Injures Six
Last Wednesday, six people were injured in Palm Springs when a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Vista Chino and Via Miraleste. According to authorities who arrived at the scene, the collision involved a pick-up truck and a white sedan. By the time that emergency personnel had arrived, the sedan was on fire.
The names of many of the individuals involved in the crash have not been released due to the fact that they were juveniles. Although an investigation is currently ongoing into the reason for the accident, no specific cause has been identified as of yet. New signals were recently installed at the intersection, which has led some experts to believe that this may be part of the reason the accident occurred.
A History of Accidents
Accidents at this intersection are nothing new. According to records, there has been an extensive history of pedestrian and motor vehicle accidents in this specific area over the past several years. Although the speed limit is only 45 mph in this specific section of road, it nevertheless remains a dangerous spot in Palm Springs. In 2016, two individuals were killed at almost the exact same spot this most recent accident occurred. If anything, stories such as these remind us how important it is to maintain awareness and vigilance at all times while driving!
