A driver was hospitalized after he crashed into a parked bus in Hesperia Friday morning. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. near Arrowhead Lake Road and Danbury Avenue. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of a Dodge truck rear-ended the parked bus, which was carrying the driver and one passenger.
The Dodge driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The bus occupants were not injured. Officials say the bus was parked at a bus stop on westbound Danbury Avenue when the truck driver struck it from behind.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station issued a statement reminding drivers of the “huge responsibility” of driving. They urged drivers to pay close attention to the road and be conscious of any potentially dangerous road conditions.
“Failing to notice a bus parked at a bus stop is a pretty clear indication of distracted driving. We encourage drivers to heed the advice of the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station and avoid distractions while behind the wheel,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
