Driver Who Caused Highway 395 Crash was Under the Influence

A Victorville man was arrested for driving under the influence last month after causing a crash on Highway 395. The crash happened on Highway 395 near Palmdale Road around 12:46 a.m. A Nissan Pathfinder was stopped in the northbound lane due to road construction when it was struck by a Honda Civic.

The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old Adelanto woman, was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. A passenger in the Honda was also injured and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

The Honda driver, 22-year-old Eduardo Pitones, had a blood alcohol level of more than double the legal limit, according to police. He was arrested for driving under the influence, as well as driving with a suspended license. The crash remains under investigation by the Victorville Sheriff’s Station, and anyone with information is asked to call (760) 241-2911.

“Drunk driving continues to plague our roadways, despite efforts to curb the problem. With drivers getting behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level of twice the legal limit, it’s clear more education is needed to combat the drunk driving epidemic,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
