Indio Pedestrian Accident Kills Local Man

A local man was killed in an Indio pedestrian accident Monday night. Police identified 67-year-old Craig Williams of Indio as the victim of Monday’s fatal crash. The collision occurred at the intersection of Avenue 48 and Indio Boulevard around 11 p.m.

Police have not released further details about the incident. However, the driver did stop and is cooperating with the investigation.

Indio Pedestrian Accident is 3rd Pedestrian Fatality this Year

The Indio pedestrian accident is the third pedestrian fatality in the Coachella Valley in 2017. Last year, 29 people died in Coachella Valley pedestrian accidents. The Coachella Valley of Governments is currently weighing a proposal to allocate $10 million to pedestrian and bicyclist safety projects throughout the valley’s cities.

“Sadly, we’ve lost yet another life to a pedestrian incident. Our condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
