Infant Among 3 Injured in I-10 Rollover Crash

Three people suffered serious injuries in an I-10 rollover crash in Blythe Friday afternoon. Authorities say a pregnant woman, an infant and one other person were rushed to a hospital after they were hurt in a two-vehicle crash on I-10 west of Mesa Road around 12:33 p.m.

Eastbound lanes were shut down while helicopters landed to airlift the three victims. The infant was airlifted to a children’s hospital in Arizona. The pregnant woman’s condition has been downgraded from major to moderate injuries. The condition of the other two victims is unknown.

Eastbound traffic was backed up all the way to Desert Center during the closure. Lanes reopened around 2 p.m. The cause of the I-10 rollover crash is still under investigation.

According to a witness, the infant was found strapped into a car seat a short distance away from the vehicle.
