Interstate Hit-and-Run Injures Pedestrian

A Hesperia man suffered internal injuries in an interstate hit-and-run Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on I-15 in Cajon Pass south of Oak Hill Road. Around 11 a.m., a man ran into the roadway for unknown reasons. A silver Honda Civic struck the pedestrian. The driver then fled the scene.

According to the California Highway patrol (CHP), the victim suffered moderate injuries, including scrapes and some internal injuries. The pedestrian was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, but his current status is unknown.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the pedestrian collision. The person who reported the incident alleged that the pedestrian was running away from him when the vehicle struck him.  Further details are not available.

The interstate hit-and-run caused significant traffic delays on southbound I-15. By 5 p.m., traffic was flowing normally again. Anyone with information for the investigation should contact the San Bernardino CHP at (909) 383-4247.

“We’re praying for the pedestrian injured in this incident. We don’t know what caused him to run out on the interstate, but doing so certainly put his life in jeopardy,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
