Lancaster School Bus Accident Injures 12

Twelve people were injured, one critically, in a school bus accident in Lancaster Tuesday morning. A school bus carrying special needs students crashed into a Cadillac around 7:15 a.m. near 20th Street East and East Lancaster Boulevard.

The bus was traveling east on East Lancaster when it collided with the Cadillac, which was traveling north on 20th Street East. The impact then caused the bus to spin out, overturn and crash into a utility pole.

The eight students on board, along with two advisers and the bus driver, suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were all taken to the hospital as a precaution. However, the Cadillac driver suffered critical injuries in the collision. An ambulance transported him to the hospital for treatment.

School Bus Accident Under Investigation

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating the cause of the school bus accident. However, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors. The school bus has seat belts, according to the Antelope Valley School District.

“We’re relieved that all the children on board are expected to be okay. Our prayers are with the driver who is in critical condition,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
