Man Severely Injured in Truck Accident Receives $2.1 Million Settlement

A Georgia man who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a truck accident has reached a $2.1 million settlement with the trucking company. The truck accident occurred in September 2016 on I-95 in Bensalam, Pennsylvania. According to authorities, a big rig was merging left when it struck a vehicle, pushing it into a guardrail, where it was then struck by another vehicle.

Nagesh Roy was a passenger in the vehicle when it was struck by the big rig. He was ejected from the vehicle and sustained severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, skull fracture, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and rib and shoulder fractures.

Roy and his wife sued the trucking company, Freymiller, Inc., claiming that the truck driver was “speeding, smoking a cigarette, driving with one hand,” and that he did not signal before attempting to merge left. Freymiller, Inc. offered the victim a $2.1 million settlement.

“The victim’s life may never be the same as it was before he suffered these severe injuries. Thankfully, this settlement should help Mr. Roy to continue to receive the care and assistance he will need going forward,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
