A motorcyclist was killed in a Highway 74 crash just south of Palm Desert Sunday afternoon. The crash happened around 12:09 p.m. near Palowet Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), 65-year-old Eric Zimmermann was riding his Yamaha motorcycle east on Highway 74 when he veered right and off the roadway.
Zimmermann was thrown from the motorcycle. He died at the scene at 12:24 p.m. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. CHP continues to investigate the Highway 74 crash.
