Pet Food Recall Has Expanded

Unfortunately, a serious product recall has been announced which has already resulted in the deaths of more than 70 dogs. According to a statement from Midwestern Pet Food, pet owners should immediately stop feeding their dogs or cats any Sportmix products sold by the company that were produced in their Oklahoma plant with an expiration date on or prior to July 9, 2022.

Midwestern Pet Food has announced that aflatoxins identified in the food can result in sluggishness, gastrointestinal issues, jaundice, and even death. Although aflatoxins are commonly found in mold, the company has warned that these toxins may still be present in the food even if visible traces of mold cannot be identified.
