Serious Snow Blower Recall

Although winter has struck hard in many areas of the country, a recent product recall is making these harsh temperatures feel even more threatening. According to a recent. statement by Toro, the Toro Power Max Snowthrower model 37802 is being recalled due to underlying mechanical defects which have created a serious risk of amputation in users.

Exploring the Snowblower Recall

Central to the issue at hand is the auger inside of the snowblower, which is supposed to stop moving when the Snowthrower has been disengaged. That being said, some users have discovered that the auger remains in motion even after the device has been deactivated. Because so many individuals use their hands to dislodge snow and ice that  have been stuck inside the chute of their snow blower, an auger that is still in motion presents a legitimate risk of catastrophic damage to appendages.

Although no injuries have been reported at this time, Toro is taking these findings very seriously and has issued a notice to all users to immediately return their products for complementary repair.
