Tesla has issued a recall for about 123,000 Model S vehicles due to a problem with the power steering. The recall covers Model S cars built before April 2016.
According to Tesla, there can be excessive corrosion on the power steering bolts of the vehicles. This can lead to the bolts failing. If this happened, the driver could still steer the car, but would have to use increased force to do so.
Tesla says the issue only affects the car while it is traveling at low speeds. Moreover, the automaker reports that it has only seen the problem occur in very cold climates where road salt is commonly used. There have not been any accidents related to the issue.
Drivers can continue to drive their vehicles until they are contacted by Tesla to schedule a recall appointment.
