Tiger Woods Found Asleep at the Wheel While on Prescription Drugs

Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of DUI after police found him asleep on the side of the road in Jupiter, Florida. The arrest occurred around 3 a.m. According to police, Woods was pulled over in his 2015 Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle’s brake lights were on and the right turn signal was flashing. Woods was alone in the vehicle, sitting in the driver’s seat with his seat belt on.

Police then had to wake Woods up and reported that he was slurring his speech. He told police he did not know where he was, but that he was coming home from Los Angeles. He also reported being on several prescription medications. According to the police report, he was cooperative with police and blew a 0.00 BAC on a Breathalyzer test.

Tiger Woods was Taking Multiple Prescriptions

Woods was booked into the Palm Beach County jail around 7 a.m., and was released a few hours later. The golfer says he is currently rehabbing from his fourth back surgery. In a statement, he claims to have had an adverse reaction to his prescription medications.

Woods will have to appear in court on July 5. He has been cited for DUI and improper parking. However, he has apologized for the incident and says he takes full responsibility for what happened.

“This incident is an important reminder that prescription drugs can often affect a person’s ability to drive. Always read the labels on your prescriptions, and never get behind the wheel if your medication makes it dangerous to do so,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
