A U.S. Marine died Monday morning in a motorcycle vs. vehicle accident in Hesperia. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Locust Avenue and Eucalyptus Street.
Motorcyclist Failed to Yield at Intersection
According to police, 21-year-old Brian Delreal was riding his motorcycle north on Locust Avenue when he failed to yield at a four-way stop. He then crashed into a westbound Kia Forte. Delreal was thrown from his motorcycle.
Authorities found the motorcyclist lying in the roadway and transported him to the hospital. Delreal succumbed to his injuries soon thereafter.
The driver of the Kia, 87-year-old Paul Mendoza, suffered unknown injuries in the crash. He was then taken to a trauma center in stable condition.
