Driver Killed in Head-On Crash in Hesperia

One person was killed in a head-on crash in Hesperia late Wednesday night. The fatal collision occurred on Peach Avenue around 11:25 p.m.

According to police, the driver of a 2001 Honda was traveling south on Peach Avenue when he crossed over the double-yellow line into oncoming traffic. The Honda then collided head-on with a northbound Nissan.

The Honda driver was trapped in the vehicle, and he died from his injuries. Two females in the Nissan, one an adult and the other a juvenile, suffered major injuries in the collision. Both were airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victims’ names have not yet been released.

Police shut down Peach Avenue in both directions from Cherry Street to Hercules Street following the accident. The Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the fatal head-on crash.
