Final Stats on 2019 Traffic Revealed
Final Stats on 2019 Traffic Revealed

Now that the new year has arrived, it is time to look back on 2019 in hopes of discovering any insight or trends which can ensure that 2020 is the best possible start to the new decade.  In some situations, this insight can serve as a stark reminder of just how important and fragile our health and lives actually are.

According to data compiled by the Desert Sun, traffic fatalities in 2019 involved 50 drivers, cyclists, and vehicle passengers. As an important side note, this figure does not include the number of pedestrians which were killed on Coachella  Valley roads, which was approximately two dozen.

It is the goal of every civic organization in the Coachella Valley to reduce this number of fatalities to zero. Based on the information gathered, it has been revealed that a traffic fatality occurred at least once every month of the year. January and November were recorded as the most deadly months, with seven fatalities in each. February saw the least number of fatal traffic accidents occur.

Unfortunately, there have already been several significant accidents taking place this year. According to experts, the Coachella Valley may be on track to exceed the fatalities recorded in 2019. Hopefully, the continued advocacy and diligence of law enforcement and advocacy groups across the valley will help to reduce as much as possible the ongoing tragedy of traffic fatalities.
