High School Grad Killed in Highway 2 Rollover Crash
High School Grad Killed in Highway 2 Rollover Crash

A Serrano High School grad died in an early morning rollover crash in Wrightwood last June. Police say 18-year-old Jeremy Logue was driving his 2003 Toyota Celica north on Highway 2 west of Big Pines Highway when he encountered a left sweeping curve. Logue was unable to navigate the curve and his vehicle overturned.

High School Grad Ejected from Vehicle

Logue was ejected from the car during the rollover crash and suffered fatal injuries. His three passengers sustained some injuries, but none were life-threatening. Police say Logue was the only occupant not wearing a seat belt.

Logue had recently graduated from Serrano High School when the fatal accident occurred. He had plans to attend the Air Force Academy. Friends and family remember the high school grad as a caring, compassionate young person who will be dearly missed by his community.

Why Don’t Teens Buckle Up?

According to the CDC, auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teens ages 16-19 in the U.S. In fact, six teenagers are killed everyday in a motor vehicle accident. A survey conducted by Safe Kids Worldwide showed that one in four teens reported not buckling up every time they get in the car. One in three teens who reported not buckling admitting it was because they were going to a party. Other reasons for not wearing a seat belt included not making it a habit, the seat belt being uncomfortable, and only going for a short ride in the vehicle.

“We are saddened that this young life was taken so abruptly. This crash a sobering reminder that seat belts save lives,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
