Honda has issued a recall of 64,785 SUVs and minivans over a brake issue that can increase the risk of a crash. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), improper coating on the rear brake calipers can lead to poor braking performance.
The Honda recall affects certain models of the 2017-2019 Acura MDX, 2018-2019 Honda HR-V, and 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey. According to Honda, the supplier informed them of the issue, and the automaker launched an investigation in response. Fortunately, there have not been any crashes or injuries related to the brake issue.
The recall is set to begin December 17. Vehicle owners will be notified by mail. If you are concerned that your vehicle might be included in the recall, you can check the NHTSA website.
