Pedestrian Fatalities on the Rise

Pedestrian fatalities hit a 12-year high last year in the Coachella Valley. Twenty-nine people died in pedestrian crashes in 2016. Moreover, the upward trend in pedestrian fatalities is a nationwide problem. From 2010 to 2015, pedestrian deaths increased by 25% in the U.S.

Drivers can help curb the problem by making sure their driving habits are safe for pedestrians. Review our 7 rules for driving around pedestrians for some helpful tips.

“Far too many pedestrians have lost their lives due to driver negligence. Drivers need to start making pedestrian safety a priority. And of course, hit-and-runs like this case can never be tolerated,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
