A motorcyclist was arrested Thursday for child endangerment and failure to yield after fleeing a traffic stop. Police say 43-year-old Chester Farris from Adelanto was going over 100 MPH on his motorcycle around State Highway 18 and Rancherias Road in Apple Valley. When deputies attempted a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m., Farris fled, speeding through red lights and violating other traffic laws.

Farris then headed north on Apple Valley Road and sped through a crosswalk where children were crossing the street. Sheriff’s Aviation tracked the motorcyclist, finally arresting him at the KOA Campground off Stoddard Wells Road. He was arrested for child endangerment and failure to yield and his motorcycle was impounded.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station at (760) 240-7400.

“This motorcyclist needs to be held responsible for endangering the lives of children, not to mention the lives of everyone else who was on the road during his reckless stint,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
