Palm Desert Child Saved from Drowning

A toddler was saved after nearly drowning in a Palm Desert swimming pool Wednesday evening. Riverside County firefighters arrived at the residence in the 72000 block of Tampico Drive around 6:17 p.m.

The young boy was rushed by ambulance to the hospital in serious condition. No update on his condition has been made public.

Riverside County Sees Spike in Juvenile Drownings

According to public health officials, there has been an unfortunate spike in juvenile drowning incidents in recent months. So far in 2018, there have been four juvenile drownings in Riverside County. That is the same number that occurred in all of 2017.

Parents and caregivers should take these frightening numbers as a warning. Drowning is preventable; children just need to be properly supervised near any body of water. For more information on drowning prevention, read our post on 5 things to know to prevent drowning incidents.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with this young boy and his family. We sincerely hope he recovers quickly,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
