Report Illegal Fireworks with New Nail ‘Em App

A new app will allow California residents to report illegal fireworks right from their smartphones. TNT Fireworks, a wholesale distributor of state-approved fireworks has launched an app called Nail ’em, which allows you to report the possession, sale and use of illegal fireworks law enforcement. The app will also alert law enforcement of the GPS location of the illegal firework activity. Users can also include photos and an audio or text message about the issue.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal continues to warn of the dangers posed by illegal fireworks. These fireworks are responsible for almost all firework-caused fires and injuries that occur in California each year. Unfortunately, most California communities lack the resources to combat the illegal firework issue. The only way most of these perpetrators will be stopped is if the citizens take responsibility for reporting them. If you’re unsure whether a firework is illegal, the rule of thumb is that if it goes up in the air or explodes, it is illegal in California.

The Nail ‘em app can be downloaded now for free through the App Store or the Google Play Store. You can watch a tutorial for the iPhone app here or the Android app here.

“Many Californians who buy and use illegal fireworks likely see it as a fun activity without serious consequences, but the reality is that these fireworks are dangerous and can cause serious injuries,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
