SUV Rollover Occurs at Dangerous Intersection

An SUV rollover crash in Hesperia left two people injured Saturday afternoon. According to police, a Honda Accord ran the stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and Oakwood Avenue. The southbound Honda then crashed into an eastbound Pontiac Torrent SUV. The impact caused the SUV to flip onto its roof. The crash occurred around 3:04 p.m.

The driver and passenger in the Pontiac both sustained non-life threatening injuries. Officials transported them to a local trauma center. Police cited the Honda driver for failure to stop at a stop sign. The driver also received a citation for a child seat violation.

SUV Rollover Prompts Increased Enforcement

According to Sheriff’s officials, 15 crashes have occurred at this intersection in the past 5 years. Of those, one was fatal and three resulted in injuries. Officers say the city has increased traffic enforcement in the area as a result of Saturday’s accident.

“We’re glad the city has taken the initiative to enforce traffic safety in an area that is prone to collisions,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
