Police are looking for the owner of a German shepherd that viciously attacked a San Bernardino woman last month. On June 28, 37-year-old Penny Holt was out for a walk on Valencia Avenue near Arrowhead Country Club when she was attacked by a German shepherd that was not on a leash. Holt says that the dog belonged to a woman on a bicycle who fled the scene after the attack.
A retired Los Angeles firefighter witnessed the attack and was able to assist Holt until paramedics arrived. He says it took 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. Holt suffered three major lacerations to her arm.
Police are still searching for the German shepherd’s owner. She is described as a Latina around 35 years old, 5’3” tall, 180 pounds, with medium to long brown hair. According to state law, the dog should have been on a leash in public, and it should have been quarantined after giving a bite that broke skin.
“This dog caused a woman major physical and emotional trauma, and its owner needs to come forward to comply with law enforcement,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
