2016 Traffic Tragedy Leads to Murder Conviction

For the friends and family of Caryn Clemente, justice was served this past Wednesday when 27-year-old Emanuele Trombini was convicted of murder following a tragic car crash which took the life of Clemente and left her 16-year old son seriously injured.

The collision was caused by Trombini, who was driving while under the influence of multiple drugs at the time, including marijuana and alprazolam. At the time of the collison, Trombini was driving over 100 miles per hour on East Palm Canyon Drive. Trombini collided with the Clemente’s vehicle as the victims were leaving the parking lot of a local Del Taco.

Now that Trombini has been found guilty, sentencing will take place on October 24th. The range of possible sentences which could be imposed on Trombini include anywhere from 15 years in prison to incarceration for life.

It will be interesting to observe how Trombini’s past driving history will influence his sentencing. According to law enforcement officers who testified at the trial, Trombini had already accrued multiple speeding tickets in recent years. Although this verdict will not bring back Clemente or her son, authorities took the appropriate steps to ensure that this particular threat will no longer be present on the streets of Palm Desert.
