Last Saturday, a driver died when their vehicle crashed into a pole. According to reports, the crash resulted in a deadly fire which ultimately led to the loss of life. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 AM on Highway 111 near Monterey. Although the fire was extinguished shortly after the arrival of fire crews, the driver perished in the accident.
As of the time of the original reporting, it was unclear whether or not there were any passengers in the vehicle. Incidents such as these remind us all how important it is to make automobile safety a top priority at all times. Although, between the years of 2018 and 2019, the number of vehicles within the Palm Desert community did decrease slightly, the fact remains that even a single fatal car crash is too many.
