DUI Leads to Car Chase and Collision
DUI Leads to Car Chase and Collision

Very rarely does a standard DUI incident lead to a car chase. However, this turned out to be the case when a 40 year-old Coachella resident fled from authorities following reports that he had violated a restraining order. After responding to a call from the the suspect’s wife claiming that the alleged perpetrator had been following her car, authorities found Fernando Carrillo in an intoxicated state. While attempting to stop Mr. Carrrillo for questioning, he decided instead to flee from the authorities in his vehicle. Police promptly began to chase him.

Due to his intoxicated state, Mr. Carrillo was unable to effectively drive his automobile and ended up hitting a car uninvolved in the chase less than a mile from where it began. The suspect was immediately taken into custody for driving under the influence, violating the restraining order initiated by his wife, and evading the police.

More information about this story will likely become available in the upcoming weeks.
