Fatigued Hiker Rescued from State Park

A fatigued hiker was rescued from Mt. San Jacinto State Park Sunday morning. The Parks and Recreation department reported that the woman suffered from fatigue while hiking and could not continue. California Highway Patrol (CHP) and park personnel worked together to rescue the hiker.

According to the Parks department, a man and his girlfriend began hiking on the Skyline route around 2 a.m. Sunday. After they had hiked about five miles, the man called the Long Valley Ranger Station and reported that his girlfriend was too fatigued to continue the hike.

The CHP aviation unit located the hikers around 12:15 p.m. CHP officers and park personnel rescued the hikers with a hoist cable, then assisted them down the Palm Springs Tramway.

“We are glad to hear the fatigued hiker was rescued and no one suffered any serious injuries. Hiking in this heat can be very dangerous, and hikers need to take the proper precautions if they are going to go out on the trails,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
