On July 12th, a multi-car crash occurred on State Route 247 in close proximity to Medanos Avenue which consequently led to the death of one involved. A statement from the California Highway patrol explained that a 21-year old male driver of a Ford F-350 pickup suddenly veered his vehicle into the northbound lane of oncoming traffic. Not only did the truck, which was also carrying three passengers, crash into the rear-end of a Chevy Avalanche, but it also subsequently collided with a Dodge Dart. Unfortunately, the driver of the Dodge Dart received fatal injuries in the event.
The driver of the Ford F-350 was airlifted to nearby Loma Linda University Medical Center where he is being treated for injuries. According to the authorities, the driver and passengers of the Chevy Avalanche were not injured in the collision. As of July 15th, authorities explained that drugs and alcohol had not been ruled out as contributors to the tragic event. As is common with incidents such as these, local authorities are asking for anyone who may have additional information regarding this situation to notify the local Victorville office of the California Highway Patrol (760) 241-1186.
