Palm Springs Tackles Tough Issues

Recently, the City of Palm Springs took it upon themselves to begin discussing actions needing to be taken relating to racism, discrimination and the prospect of an extended eviction moratorium. As part of the meeting, residents were invited to discuss their own situations and the positive impact that the services provided thus far have had on their own situation. In addition to the listening session, the Council members also moved to approve a round of $150,000 in funding for a comprehensive review of police department policies.

Given the fact that coronavirus is still heavily impacting the community, a Riverside County public health officer also spoke about current virus trends. Ultimately, the health officer concluded that personal gatherings are still acting as the primary transmission vehicle for coronavirus throughout Palm Springs.
