A class action lawsuit has been filed against the makers of Power King Towmax STR trailer tires. The lawsuit includes plaintiffs from Florida and Colorado. Towmax trailer tires are designed for use on large camping trailers.
The lawsuit alleges that certain trailer tires manufactured by TBC Corporation and Dynamic Tire Corporation are defective because the tread separates. The plaintiffs in the case have stated that the tire defect renders the tires useless and dangerous. Further, they believe the tires are not durable enough to be used for their intended purpose on trailers. While the companies claim the tires are designed for “long-lasting and dependable performance,” the plaintiffs allege the tires have a high rate of failure, which poses a serious risk to customers.
The lawsuit accuses the tire makers of marketing a dangerous and defective product, as well as failing to warn customers of the defects. Moreover, the tires in question were manufactured in China—information that is not disclosed by the company, according to the plaintiffs.
“It is unacceptable for a company to market tires for use on trailers if those tires are prone to failing under normal conditions,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
